Job Description
Our client is a publisher, distributor and service provider for the interactive entertainment industry, and they now have a new vacancy for a UK National Accounts Manager.
To develop existing retail and distribution partners and to drive incremental growth in new UK accounts predominantly across the retro hardware category. There will also be a limited amount of cross over into the software category.
The group has achieved combined revenues of around £15m in 2016 and continues to grow its product line-up with UK rights. As a result there is an increasing importance on cementing the strength of distribution and retail partners in the UK and to build long term, profitable partnerships to maximise sales.
The successful candidate will have the commercial acumen to identify the best opportunities and to establish and develop these to deliver sales and profit in line with budgets and forecasts.
Key Responsibilities
·Development of successful partnerships.
·Identification of potential new partners.
·Liaising closely with Product Managers to fully understand the product range(s) and how best to maximise their sales potential.
·Definition and management of the processes for communication of product information and the management of marketing to maximise demand
·Definition and management of the process for collecting orders and monitoring sell in, sell through, pricing, returns and markdowns
·Reporting internally on partner performance
·Regular travel (within UK) and meetings with partners in line with the level of business achievable
·Preparation of budgets and forecasts supported by product benchmarks where possible
·Preparation and negotiation of business plans and agreements to ensure suitable commitments and commercial control
Measurable deliverables
·Sales vs. budget and forecast
·Growing cash margin & category profitability
·Management of markdowns and returns
·Commercial control of local marketing spend and implementation with support from Marketing team as required
·Breadth of coverage – i.e. full distribution in all key UK partners
·Building new customers – Delivering incremental coverage across the non-traditional gaming retail partners
·Market share growth – Securing timely orders in line with production schedules and release dates
·Tracking and escalation of payment collection (with support from finance)
Personal capabilities
·Sound knowledge of UK distribution and retail dynamics and preferably existing network of contacts and partners
·Sound knowledge of commercial processes and pricing mechanics within the games industry (or similar).
·High level of numeracy and literacy with the ability to create and adapt excel business models, contract templates etc.
·Willingness to travel.
·Ability to work with the internal team to deliver the necessary materials and assets required by retail partners
