Our client is the largest supplier of plant equipment and engineering services into the rail sector, and due to continued success, they have an immediate vacancy for a Business Development Manager.
Covering the North of the country the role will involve promoting and securing work for their Road Rail Hire Division, POS & Cranes and Principle Contracting.
You will work to generate your own leads and contacts through research and networking where you will then sit appointments with key decision makers within the rail industry to discuss future projects.
Ultimately you will work to close deals whether it be small daily/weekly scheduled repair right up to major rail construction and engineering projects.
Being a strong influencer, you will also develop relationships with key accounts where you will increase yearly spend through exceptional account management. Excellent pipeline management will also be crucial as will record keeping and follow up for ongoing commercial projects.
Ideally candidates applying for this position should have a proven background within a similar role such as plant hire equipment, sale of civil engineering/construction/engineering services sales. Previous experience selling into the rail industry would certainly be beneficial. It is also important that candidates can work under pressure to meet sales targets and KPI’s.
